Freeview Reception Aerials

new-aerial.png

Freeview, is the name of the broadcasting platform whilst Digital is the type of broadcasting method that has now superseded the original analogue broadcasting system.

The Aerial is the piece of equipment designed to capture the frequencies that are broadcast. The fact that the broadcast is now digital bears no relation and hence its a myth when an aerial is so called a ‘digital aerial’.

The Log Periodic aerial as shown in the picture, is an ideal choice for Freeview Digital Television reception.

In general terms, the log-periodic design operates somewhat similar to a series of three-element Yagis, where each set of three consecutive elements forms a separate antenna with the driven element in the center, a director in front and reflector behind. However, the system is somewhat more complex than that, and all the elements contribute to some degree, so the gain for any given frequency is higher than a Yagi of the same dimensions as any one section of the log-periodic.

Repairline Aerial Services fit CAI approved log periodic aerials as standard in all our installations.
